Logo Design

Logo are symbol made up of text with interesting font and styles that can identify a religion, a business or institution like school, college or university. A great logo shows what  a company does and what the brand values, and is all about creating the perfect visual brand mark for a company. A logo can provide your audience with some crucial information about the company, it can  communicate the industry you exist in and target the demographic that the company is looking for. They are many elements of a logo like Typography, Imagery, Colour:

Typography- Typography is a way to use text as a visual to convey a brand and a message. Typography is an important element that boosts a design and gives it a personality, and it also can grab viewer's attentions, makes the brand more recognisable and establish value and tone of the brand. There are many elements into like Colour contrast because good colour constrat may seem like an elementary concept, but there are some easily overlooked things. Leading is the space between lines of text, without space between lines. Kerning is the method of adjusting the space between individual characters, the main goal of kerning is to achieve more balanced types.

Imagery- The companies imagery is the visual representation of the brand's core messaging. Imagery can be used to communicated in many forms, such as a simple visuals, and experience or felling. The main purpose of the brand imagery is to communicate the right messages with the main target audience that the company is seeking for. The imagery can include illustration, iconography, typography, video, animation and photography.

Colour- A brand's personality, emotion, and message are expressed by colour. Since a colourless logo cannot draw the attention of your target audience in the exact same way that a colourful logo does, it will not be effective. The most effective colours to be using in logos are Blue, Red, â€‹Black, Grey, Silver, Yellow, Gold. Red is a symbol of symbol of passion, anger, and excitement with brands like Coca-Cola and H&M, yellow symbolises friendliness and cheer with sites like Bumble which is a dating app and National Geographic that is most of the time a family friendly, and blue blue inspires a sense of calm and spiritual awareness and example DELL and PayPal.

There are many types of logo designs that are often used in logo creation:

Word Markis logo that uses the name of the brand instead of a drawing is just a text with any fonts. Brands like Coca-Cola, Jack Daniels and Google. The example that I'm using right is the Supreme logo that just uses the name of the brand. It make the intention of the brand clear and simples.

Pictorialis type of logo that are made up of graphic symbol or icon, that can either represent a the name of the brand like for example the iconic logo of Apple that shows an apple with a part bitten or a real-world object. Theses logo are easy to remember and sends a clear message to the intended audience.

Abstract Logos just a symbol, is the type of image doesn't need a meaning it's a unique logo designed to express something specific about the brand, that helps the designer have its own identity and communicate your ideas. And these most of the time involves geometrical shapes that captures a felling or emotions. Squares are stable and abide by the rules, Circles evoke a feeling of comfort; just take a look at the MasterCard logo. Other geometric shapes such as bold vertical lines convey a sense of strength and durability. A dynamic logo is adaptable and can change depending on the context in which it’s placed. These dynamic logos take the same abstract shape and tweak it to fit different contexts, whether by changing the colours used, layout, or orientation of the symbol.

Logo Systemis a combination of all three examples of logos like the pictorial, abstract and word mark. It was first designed in 1973 for a Belgium supermarket named Priba. Logo System can be experimental to fit a message my just using an abstract logo with a word mark.

Analysing Logos

This is the Manchester United FC logo, which is a kind of a logo system, because the logo is a combination of a word mark with a pictorial symbol of a little devil with a pitchfork and a boat on top, because the football team are also known as the red devils, and the whole logo is really eye catching with the vibrant red and yellow colour scheme, and this gives on my opinion a devilish appeal to it, it looks like an emblem because of its shield in the middle and that mimics the royal family.

Manchester_United_FC_crest.svg.webp

The Adidas logo specifically the mountain design logo, this logo is amongst the more famous Adidas designs along side with the trefoil and the three line stripes. I looks like an Abstract logo but what it says in the name that is supposed to resemble a mountain but it's drawn with the three stripes line imagery that helps gives its own look. But this logo right now is logo system because is a combination an abstract image and the adidas name.

Adidas_logo (1).png

The Vans logo is really straight forward, because is just the name of the brand on the Tepeno Sans font and all red. It kind of makes sense using this font because it gives a really raw look to the company; Vans are really well-known amongst the skateboarders and this logo really helps with the aesthetic.

Vans-Logo.png

Supreme might be the most iconic of all the logo shown in this section, because this logo was everywhere on the 2010's, it was on hoodies, t-shirts, bags, bricks, etc. This logo was a symbol of power on street, it attracted everyone from celebrities, working-class people, and skateboarders. This wasn't the first the intended logo,  James Jebbia didn't like the first design made, so he gave the designer a book made by Barbara Kruger, and this book feature the iconic bold, Futura, oblique font surrounded by a box. It has a minimalistic word mark logo but yet impactful with its bold font, that sybolizes modern day capitalism.

After Effects Logo

This a tutorial that our teacher is teaching us to do and which is showing the logo with a glitch effect showing brands.

Screenshot 2022-10-31 at 13.56.09.png

I opened up After Effects and clicked where it says new composition.

The main panel opened up, and then I pressed CMD+I to import the PNG of the logos that I choose.

Screenshot 2022-10-31 at 13.57.43.png
Screenshot 2022-10-31 at 14.03.29.png
Screenshot 2022-10-31 at 14.03.31.png

I added all my PNG logos, but I was faced by a dilemma that my Adidas logo was all in black and it wasn't visible, so I just went on effects then searched up invert and dragged it to the black Adidas logo

Screenshot 2022-10-31 at 14.13.37.png

After getting this fixed, I just highlighted all my layer sequences then I set them to be split in 5 second each.

Screenshot 2022-10-31 at 14.23.33.png

I went to effects again to get the VR Digital Glitch so that the effect is made possible.

Screenshot 2022-10-31 at 14.22.29.png

After I dragged the VR Digital Glitch

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 14.08.00.png

I went to the effect control and I just changed the numbers where it says the distortion so that the logo looks like the glitchy.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 14.08.00.png

When I'm finished with that I selected the key frame right in the start of the next logo but I decreased the distortion at the end of the previous logo. I pressed CMD + C to copy and CMD + V to paste on the other sequence layers.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 14.19.14.png

Then I went to effects and searched up 3D glasses and dragged it to the sequence layers.

Then I went to the control effects and then I went to 3D glasses and this option is to help to tell the program to reflect at the image, where it says left and right view.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 14.37.22.png

Then I clicked where it said 3D view and choose the balanced coloured Red Blue option.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 14.37.22.png
Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 14.45.00.png

So I highlighted the sequences and pressed CMD+Shift+C to create a pre composition.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 14.48.18.png

Then I just pressed CMD+CTRL+M to render and pressed render and the logo edit was all done.

The History Of Copper Black

Cooper Black is a font bold that was designed by Oswald Bruce Copper in 1921 and it was released by the Barnhart Brothers & Spindler type in 1922. This is font is all over the world from street logo shops and pop culture like used in album covers for artists like The Beach Boy.

This font was designed by the Oswald Bruce Cooper. He was born in Ohio in 1879 and he always from a young age always wanted to be a famous illustrator, and that inspired him to left school at the age of 17. Years later he joined Fred Berstsch and they started to setting up the designs of the Copper Black, and it took a year to flesh out the final weights of the characters, redrawing the lowercase characters many times, specifically the m's and n's.. The Copper Black was released in 1922, and the super bold font that was instant success. This type face firstly became popular on shop names, paper advertisement, and had a great influence on the style of the 1920's and 30's...But. it became difficult to keep up the demand, and started to have well known, such as Goudy Heavyface and Ludlow Black.

The hype of the Copper Black died in the early 1940's, but it had kind of a comeback two decades later due to the aesthetic of the Pop Art Movement. In the mid 60's The Beach Boys released Pet Sounds having the Copper Black and launched the typeface into the cultural spotlight. In the 70's the Copper Black was being used in title sequences shows such as, The Odd Couple and M*A*S*H, and this influenced shows into the 21st century like Everybody Hates Chris. Today Copper Black is still most closely associated with 1960's and 1980's aesthetic, even though it was made decades before.

Radio

How do Access radio platform

There is many ways to access radio station, you can access it online, using a digital speaks that can detect FM or AM frequencies or listen on car. They can be two types frequencies often talked when talking about radio FM or AM frequencies. AM (Amplitude Modulation) is method of are used to transmit data using the method of modifying a carrier signal, AM broadcast signals use lower carrier frequencies, which helps them travel long distances. FM (Frequency Modulation)  the carrier wave frequency is modified according to the signal that carries information. The radio signals have large bandwidth than AM radio signals, which helps to offer much better sound quality. But radio has been time lapsing for a long so most radio station don't stick with the FM or AM frequency, they've moved on to digital like radio station like BBC, Magic FM, LBC, and Heart FM. Each of them have host that let them listen mostly for free, but some sites offer you premium option if you want to have the full experience, BBC uses their big streaming platform to people to subscribe or uses TV license.

Big radio Like BBC or Magic FM have many easy schedules. I can have quick google search and find the desired thing that listener is seeking for. BBC Radio 1 schedules really is well divided to different age groups.

Around this time in the morning everyone is waking up, but I feel that the older people are more keen to listen the radio news more than everyone. After the 3 minute news segment, Greg James does his breakfast shows, and they normally do some quizzes to engage with the listeners, and play the chart-pop song, and then 10:30 the news plays again.

This what I can call peak time because this is around the time, that people can listen to the chart-pop song that they really like, but they are other option to listen to their favourite song but I digress. This also still shows the recent news and then they change the presenter and once again. This time draws everyone to go have listen. And This for a good two and half hours to then transition to the 3:30 Pm news.

Rajar Radio

RAJAR stands for Radio Joint Audience Research Limited is an independent audience measurement. RAJAR for the last 30 years has been collecting information on behalf of numerous BBC station and legal commercial radio stations approved by Off-com. Station listening through time, duration, platform (AM/FM, DAB, online/APP, and DTV) and location (in vehicle, at domestic, at paintings, or somewhere else) is recorded and posted on a quarterly foundation. They're can count the amount of times that audience listens, and peak time, and the radio show with more listeners.

RAJAR was set up by the BBC and the Radio Centre in 1992 to measure their audiences using the same system. It replaced the BBC’s Daily Survey and Commercial Radio’s JICRAR survey according to the website. There was many attempts to push RAJAR away from the outdated paper diaries used to determine listenership, there have been a number of attempts over the years to modernise or rethink the technique. However, any improvement is challenging because RAJAR gathers over 100,000 diaries each year from volunteers who diligently record which stations they tune in to and when during a typical week. The survey was revised in 2011 to allow online submission, and a mobile diary app for smartphones and tablets was created in 2016. The team at RAJAR notes that paper diaries are still the primary method for calculating listenership around the world, so in many ways they are ahead of others. This is true despite all the pressures for change.

This a simple graph of the numbers of listeners that each radio has and the average hour and total hours that people tune in. It's fascinating that I can check type of radio, and it's good that you can have a check on the local radios.

Radio Equipment

The Zoom H5 is a portable recorder with an interchangeable microphone system. It supports

records directly to SD and SDHC cards up to 32 GB which is good to store a lot of audio, the versatile recorder is compatible with the existing line of optional H6 accessories such as a shotgun mic and XLR/TRS input modules.

This a Mixer Control, and they are used used to control the levels of multiple inputs so that an individual can adjust the sounds correctly. They are useful for recording purposes like live recording, and it can input microphones and musical instruments like guitar and bass, etc.

I_2M0030_COf_ProdMedium_652148_1.jpg

Headphones are useful to listen to their own voice and checking the volumes. It is good to use a noise cancelling headphones because it emerges you into the radio show. Best Headphones to be used on radio studios Audio Technica or any regular FM or AM headphones.

Microphones is the most important tool of a radio station because that is where the presenter talks and present the news, and people can hear your voice, and communicate with the audience. Widely considered by the radio industry as the best mic, Howard Stern actually uses the Neumann TLM 103, so it's a very popular microphone in radio broadcasting, and actually uses the same capsule as the more expensive Neumann U87, so it's like the little brother of mics, both BBC 1 and 2 uses this microphone.

DP35918-40.jpg

The mic processor adds additional power to the preamp. Typical stages include a gate or expander, limiter, compressor, de-esser and equalization. Each stage can be used for a particular benefit. For example, it can remove background noises and sibilants. These are words that have an S in them, resulting in harsh sounds. A microphone processor like the DBX 286S adds a grander feel to your audio and cleans up the signal.

custom-gaming-pc.png

A good custom PC, that helps to run the audio programs to record the audio, a good PC that runs Windows 10, that has a 4th gen i3 processor, 240GB SSD, 8GB DDR3 RAM, and 4TB external hard-drive, and with a good monitor and Acer T232HL touch screen to change the tracks.

s-l1600.jpg

The pre-amplifier manages switching between several line level sources and amplifies the signal before delivering it to the amplifier, which are its two main tasks. A tiny electrical signal is amplified to allow for further processing, which reduces noise and produces cleaner output.

Jingles

A jingle is a short song or tune that is used to advertise the radio, and its made explicitly promotes the radio and that or a product. They are typically lasting between 10 and 20 seconds when used by a radio station and 10-30 seconds when used by a brand to advertise on a radio. Additionally, a well-made song often helps a slogan or the selling be communicated most effectively. The art of jingles really hit its peak in 1950s, it was first used by Guglielmo Marconi that was an Italian inventor and electrical engineer, made the first wireless broadcast in the UK in June 1920, the BBC was formed in 1922 and by the middle of that decade, most Britons could tune in to BBC wireless programs.

Advertising of branded products such as breakfast cereals, candy, tobacco, and beer. During World War II, radio jingles aided in the recruitment of soldiers and promoted the purchase of war bonds and stamps. With time, advertisers realised that they were marketing experiences just as much as products. Later Troggs and Jefferson Airplane both recorded jingles, for Coca-Cola and Levi’s jeans respectively. Meanwhile the 1980s and 1990s saw successful campaigns such as the Be All that You Can Be one for the US Army, and let’s not forget You Deserve a Break Today for fast-food giant McDonald’s.

Example of a Jingle

Jingles are made to do a lot of functions and aid the presenter in moving between different parts of a show, there is many different ways to transition between songs, like Acapella, Donut, Bed, Stab and Sweeper.

Stings is a musical phrase or called a sounder, and is short, primarily used in broadcasting and films as a form of punctuation. Stings were musical cues that came in sharply and dramatically, often played just after an actor had delivered a line indicating a new turn in the story line. Each genre, including drama, comedy, horror, and radio and television commercials, can incorporate a musical sting. The music director uses it frequently. Tension is frequently raised in this way. Stings, often known as a "scare chord," are frequently employed in horror films to emphasise jump scares. A classic sting is the Dun dun duuun! played to indicate a period of suspense.

Example of Stings

Adobe Illustrator

I never been exposed to Adobe Illustrator, I instead use Photoshop to make logos, and our teacher gave us a YouTube link tutorial. This tutorial is teaching the basic of Illustrator like getting text, re-shaping squares, triangles, creating layers. Illustrator is good to create all types of abstract, logo system and pictorial.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 10.45.02.png

I opened up Adobe Illustrator

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 10.45.02.png

Then I choose the HDTV 1080p because it makes the screen flat

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 11.37.54.png

And like the tutorial taught me, and we can make any shape so I picked up the star.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 11.37.36.png

So I just made a shape of a triangle and by pressing Up Arrow to increase the number of side and a simple triangle can be turn into a start.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 11.39.37.png

Here's an example. And now I'm trying to move on to try do my on logo shape.

I did a shape of a triangle and to fill it up I went to the option on the layers to bucket paint it.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 11.47.04.png

And here is the execution and and after that.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 11.44.40.png

Then I went to get the direct select tool to manipulate the shape of the triangle.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 11.42.04.png
Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 11.52.34.png

Here a few example of some things that I shaped and primary abstract.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 12.01.07.png
Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 12.06.06.png

Technical Skill

Now I am tasked to create make my own logo. I am think about just making something really abstract or a combination which is off all the types of logos.

Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 11.23.22.png
Screenshot 2022-11-07 at 10.55.51.png

I was trying to create a few logos, but they looked way too abstract and didn't like the way it look very amateur and I wanted to make it more professional

Screenshot 2022-11-08 at 09.22.24.png

So I just went to the layers and just locked the layer for the background. And each line I just added on a different layer.

Screenshot 2022-11-08 at 09.20.41.png

I created the triangle shape and clicked on the direct tool to manipulate the shape. I made bird like shape and just with it.

Screenshot 2022-11-08 at 09.23.31.png

I just extended the lower part and added two lines.

I added a few lines to make the logo more 3D and I gave me more inspiration.

Screenshot 2022-11-08 at 09.30.43.png
Screenshot 2022-11-08 at 09.48.28.png

Then when I finished with the lines and I went to object, and live paint and press make to get them all merge together

Screenshot 2022-11-08 at 10.20.22.png

I just went to the text tool and picked the Didot font because it looked formal and fitted with the logo and I named it Falcon

And I put the name on the bottom of the radio.

Screenshot 2022-11-08 at 10.20.12.png
Screenshot 2022-11-08 at 10.24.47.png
Screenshot 2022-11-08 at 10.25.52.png

Once I finished with the logo I went on files and clicked where it says save as copy.

I save it as a PDF so that I can attached in other programs such power-point

Screenshot 2022-11-08 at 11.00.21.png

Then saved it as Adobe Illustrator file.

Logo.JPEG_page-0001.jpg

Final Outcome

Ident

For me, indent logos are just a basic way to display, and the main goals is to maintain brand recognition by reminding audience they are seeing the product. Consumer normally see indents on opening scenes of movies or a new advert of any clothing brands like Nike or Gucci. Ident Logos acquire the power to set the stage for the advert/commercial that will come after them. A company requires to have a indent because it gives the brand a sense of what the audience can expect when they see the commercials, which can helps to draw viewers and increase viewership, and there are many tools to spread a brands image, every single company have any type of social media to advertise, or use YouTube Ad breaks. Animation are really important to also draw viewers, Film 4 is a great example of nice logo and also trying to innovate with the indents and that all surreal and innovative.

The Warner Brothers ident is extremely iconic ident and logo, and this ident symbolises that you are watching and blockbuster action, horror or comedy flick. Warner Brothers is home to big blockbuster such as Matrix, Harry Potter, The Batman movies, Superman . All these movies have something in common, their idents change so fit the aesthetic of the movie. This the standard golden shield and letters and over the years has been simplified into all blue logo and gives a modern look to the shield.

Screenshot 2022-11-14 at 11.24.55.png

Instead of using the well-know golden colour, the matrix team just but a dark green around the shield to fit with the ever present green colour grading. Something really interesting that the team chose to put a video the sky background, because it shows that the sky is fake, and it seems that the sky is being projected from a video, and this fits with the concept of the film, which is the character Neo is living on simulation that he has to break, and it shows at the start of the movie where he is trapped in the matrix. Later when the camera gets closer to the shield, it shows zeros and ones in green and futuristic font.

1c50bafae5eee76e932059a959843340.jpeg

Warner Also succeeded on Harry Potter Movies because each movie gets dark on the on plot wise or visual, and the Warner Logo shield  which is always golden and shiny starts getting duller by the end of the franchise, and becomes silver, that shows continuity to franchise and gets all the films together.

Marvel

Marvel Indent is one of the most iconic and parodied ident of all time. It shows a all red filtered background and a series of Marvel comic book panels flipping downward second by second like a flipbook, the comic panels start zoom while the logo marvel comes up. Same as the Warner Bros. Ident, it can change of depending of the movie, and this Ident has been used since the first Spider-Man that come out in 2002 to 2013.

Screenshot (1373)_edited.jpg

For this movie The Punisher (2004), the ident starts with the classic all red logo, but when they show the flipbook part you can notice some comic panel of the the Garth Ennis that has direct inspiration of this movie, then it turns black and white, and gun shots with the smoke on the on top.

For example. This is the opening sequence of Hulk (2003), so to fit with the colour of the super-hero they decided to use a flipbook of Hulk comic panels instead of using the same generic ones that they normally use. It creates its own identity even thought is a Marvel movie that may be good or not.

Case Study

 News Values

Human Interest - a human-interest story is a feature story that discusses people or animals, that features emotional language rather than relying on hard facts, it's a telling of tales that can be non fiction, and could include an uplifting story about a man that is trying to raise a charity in memory his son.

Timeliness- stories often needs times because stories will soon lose its impact. Breaking news stories are an excellent example of timely stories since they almost always make use of the news value of timeliness.

Prominence - Prominence are news about a widely known person can be a celebrity or politicians.

Conflict- clash of forces or individuals with a spectacular result and the basic example is the war between Ukraine and Russia,

OFCOM

The Office of Communications, but also well known as OFCOM. OFCOM is a government approved that regulates and authorise broadcast companies, and OFCOM can range to regulate television, radio and postal sectors; Their main purpose and duty is to represent the best interest of normal day people and average consumers by doing promotion of the best radios and television channels and protect people from harmful or offensive material.

OFCOM is like the Ofsted of media industry they check radios and television if people are watching or listening to the right thing and doesn’t contain content that breaches the OFCOM Rules and Regulation.

OFCOM is well known public service broadcast. They have set out its approach to these important with their “Regulatory Principles”. These include:

  • To intervene where there is a specific statutory duty to work towards a public policy goal which markets alone cannot achieve;

  • To research markets constantly and to aim to remain at the forefront of technological understanding;

  • To operate with a bias against intervention, but with a willingness to do so where required;

  • To consult widely with all relevant stakeholders and to assess the impact of regulatory action before imposing regulation upon a market;

  • To always seek the least intrusive regulatory mechanisms to achieve our policy objectives;

  •

OFCOM is also well known for having a list with thing that can’t be said for the public in radio, it’s a long list, and every radio must abide by the rules, or they can be fine for not doing so. Take an example of a community radio station being fined £10,000 by OFCOM because the presenter made several statements which it considered were abusive and derogatory to the Ahmadiyya community, and due to the complaints OFCOM had to do a serious investigation behind it. The articles quotes what he said to the Ahmadi people as: “dangerous”; “liars”; “enemies of Islam, enemies of Pakistan, and enemies of our religion”; and “hypocrites who frequently engage in propaganda to defame Muslims”.

Women in Radio

Women in Radio is an interesting subject to talk about. This leans on topic like sexism and equality. Everyone deserves the right express their love in a certain media, no matter race and sexuality. Radio is an industry dominated by man, nearly all the famous radio jockeys and radio presenter are all white, straight males like Paul Burnett, Mark Goodier, Danny Kelly, the late John Peel, so there are a few famous female presenters such as Zoe Bell BBC Radio 2, Clara Amfo from BBC 1, Claudia Winkleman, Moira Stuart which was a first newsreader of Caribbean decent, they are important people and influence on other female aspiring radio presenters. Women in radio was so rare that when in 1938 the first female news reporter was introduced on the Swedish radio ‘angry radio listeners nearly choked on their morning coffee’.

Studies at different sources show that there are only 34% to 37% of women among the top-level decision-makers in the 10 radio stations. Women are under-represented at major levels across radio, with male employees accounting for 62% of senior management and 81% at Board level, so shows that women are neither in power nor representation. Ofcom radio licensees urgently need to undertake better and more regular monitoring of their employees. All broadcasters provided information on the gender of their employees, but no ethnicity data was provided on 9% of industry employees or disability status data on 38% of employees, because exist women with disabilities that don’t get that much and the most well know presenter with a disability Lucy Edwards, she is the first blind present, and she presents on BBC 1 Birmingham.

I feel like radio should a safe place for everyone to join and shouldn’t a taboo for women to be in position in power. I would say OFCOM needs to encourage more diversity programs get women and people of colour in position of represents give them a motivation to start in radio because radio is dying media and it need to be more inclusive not separated.

Infographics

Now I am tasked to make a recording and put it on with the logo I made for the Radio Show. I had idea for this Ident for the short. I watch some Adult Swim commercials and I liked the way that quotes would just appear with the black background and white letters. I wanted my Infographics to fit with vibe of my logo, and I wanted to recorded all the question and put them together and end abrupt.

Questions

Whats's the top 10 worst movie of All-Time?

What is your 5 favourite artist?

What is the longest video game to complete?

Screenshot 2022-11-21 at 11.24.38.png

I clicked on new composition

I left all the default setting and pressed ok

Screenshot 2022-11-21 at 14.40.33.png

Final Outcome

Radio Poster

I decided to just create a poster so me and Kian could promote radio show and planning to do something really simple and symbolic and show the dates and the time that we start the show and a simple logo.

Screenshot 2022-12-05 at 09.48.30.png

Firstly opened Photoshop

Screenshot 2022-12-05 at 09.50.05.png

Then I choose an A4 size because is standard for posters.

I just dragged the logo to the background

Then I just searched up the original font that I used called Didot.

Then added the text that contains the dates of the show

Screenshot 2022-12-05 at 11.12.52.png

After finishing with text I added a little blood stain because I wanted to make the red stand out.

Screenshot 2022-12-05 at 11.13.20.png

I just put the blood stain close where it says conversation

Screenshot 2022-12-05 at 11.24.36.png

Then I went to files, save a copy

Screenshot 2022-12-05 at 11.25.04.png

Then I saved it into a Jpeg and it was done

Radio Show 1

PLAN PIE CHART 1

thumbnail_Screenshot 2022-12-09 at 10.21.12.png

This our first radio show and this is an hour long show, and our plan was to just playing tracks and talk about some pre-planed topics like favourite films, expressing our thoughts on Black Panther 2, the state of twitter after Elon Musk bought the company and the controversy about it, talking about our expectation on the latest Avatar 2 movie, and most importantly the whole Erza Miller controversy. For this radio show we didn't use any jingles or stabs because of this week wanted to just to self learn how to use virtual DJ and didn't contain any adverts, so it was technically podcast but full songs. I felt the transition between song where a bit stiff and not smooth and sometimes I would be to close to the mic and it sound really distorted, but other than it was solid time I like the selection of songs and I saved on my USB. Now for the next radio show add few sound effects and jingles.

Radio Show 2

PIE CHART PLAN 2

thumbnail_Screenshot 2022-12-09 at 10.20.38 (1).png

This week radio show was a bit short, but we did something that changed the course of our radio show introduction and we decided to use the song Far Away by Casiopea, and I felt like we can use that as intro song for a our radio show, and afterwards I didn't we didn't introduced the radio show with our on branding but instead we used the college radio one and I didn't introduce myself and the host Kian, it doesn't give its own branding. This episode of the radio show was a shorter because I didn't select enough songs so that's why is only 50 minutes. I also used the a little sound effect that used the word "damn" so we had to do a quick apology for that but overall it was the same as but difference I used sound effects to make the radio show more comical and alive. So for the next I will try to download more song and add more jingles, and try and add segment.

Radio Show 3

PIE CHART PLAN 3

Screenshot (1381).png

For this one there was some major improvements but they were at the same time still flawed for this one we didn't the topics that we wanted to talk and we only had four thing to talk about, and I out of despair I just read an article about current event specifically the whole Balenciaga fiasco that was happening so I read the article out of my phone instead of using a pre-recorded so that a big no no. But other than that every thing went alright, we used an advert that we did for Essex Best Kebab Shop so we where limited with adverts, but we still where missing our own jingles. We used enough songs and I tried to keep up the show together and still formal greeting to our show, I felt this episode can have a lot of improvements and for next week we are going to use more music and add more adverts.

Radio Show 4

PLAN PIE CHART 4

Screenshot (1382).png

This is our penultimate radio show, and we came really prepared so we added a range of topic like the games awards to black Adam's box office failure, 6 topics to discuss about, and also I came with a lot of songs and we planned that each time we chat about something it has to be 10 minutes each and I feel like is well scheduled thing. Also I used to adverts like two because I didn't flood the radio show a lot of adds. I used the song Far Away song for the intro and I also introduced my self and my co-host. I think we can still improve more because my co-host used the word "Sh#t" and few times of dark humour so next time I'll limit me and also Kian using any crude language, other than that it was solid show and by next time are getting the Falcon Show jingles.

Radio Show 5 (Final Show)

PLAN PIE CHART 5

Screenshot (1384).png

This our final final radio show, for this one I strictly planned all the thing like stings and jingles to pie chart plan and the songs, and I had all the jingles and stings made by the time I presented, we had three stings/jingles were the co-host Kian Matthews saying phrases like "The Falcon Show", "Change The Track Falcon" and to finish the radio show "Now Is Time to Go Bed". I had songs all already, and one of most important key points was added to radio show was the discussion Women of radio that I did an essay about this subject and how is important to create programs that get more women position of radio presenters and more. So it was an important topic to talk, plus we just developed our radio shows developed more because we just did a mini game show snog-marry-kiss and to be a bit humours I added classical, it was a nice touch to the segment and the only segment that I have missed is the news one, because while talking end just naturally topic but afterward, we followed up with two song and more adverts, and the transition between song where natural. That's why this is the final radio show.
