I opened up After effects

imported the files to the panel and it's two videos
I went to this panel

I found a good place to download fonts and I downloaded this

I created a new solid that said my name on it

I went on effects and searched for linear colour key and dragged to the sequence that said my name

I changed the tolerance

I changed the way that smokes come us up the letters

Clicked my solids and hold it with the CMD key to create a Pre-composion

I Clicked ok

And after that I just clicked CMD+CRTL+M to create a shortcut to render

Music Video Analysis
Earfquake (2019) - Tyler, The Creator: This the 2019 single of the American musician Tyler, The Creator, part of his fifth studio album Igor which he gained a lot a praise from the critics and won a Grammy as the best rap album in 2020. This the second track of the album, and the song itself is describing that the person that he is on love with makes his earthquake, and that want’s that love to leave because need that person “Cause when it all comes crashing down, I'll need you.,” just expressing his love with colourful synth and a booming bass.
This music video Does not really fit the narrative because it is starts off with the host (played by Tracee Ellis Ross) of a fictional late-night show with some sparkly glitter on the background, and it follows with her presenting and complimenting the singer’s hair and outfit, and then it starts singing and dancing along with the song with rap influence but not a rap song more of a pop tune. The main audience is truly his fans like they are all between 14-33 because he has been doing music for 2 decades.
Hive (2013) - Earl Sweatshirt: this the yet another nightmare that ex-Odd Future member released on the OFWGKTA YouTube channel. This video was directed by Hiro Murai, that also directed the iconic This is America music video. One of the thing that really love about Hiro's videos he is not shy to add disturbing and weird imagery based on compilation of book by David Lynch. This is great homage for the skaters and BMX riders; I see a lot of Vans and Converses shoe, and Earl Sweatshirt himself wearing Thrasher.
The cinematography and colour palate is grim and horrifying with no jump scares. The use of heavy lighting makes it focus on the people behind the rapper with the dark background. I feel like the purpose of this video is too make you feel in sync with the dark subject matter of the lyrics and the dark quite satanic imagery.
Bittersweet Symphony (1997) - The Verve - This is an iconic music video, and has been referenced by many artist and having similarities with the Unfinished Sympathy by Massive Attack. The premise of the video is a man walking through the busy streets of Hoxton, London. The character refuses to change his pace, and he firstly nearly gets hit by a car, and bumping into numerous passersby. Later by the end of the music video the entire band joins him. This video has an interesting camera it always panning on a wide shot of the man walking by sometimes changes. The choice of the colour of the cinematography with the really blueish feel and also that can symbolise the weather of the place giving an autumn, or that can symbolise the rapid gentrification that place was going through. This video was an iconic moment in the Brit-Pop movement in the mid-90's, and this video was appealing for people around the age of 17-26 that can be the age of fans of other band such as Oasis, Suede and Blur.
L.S.D (2015) - Asap Rocky- This video is an a homage to the psychedelic art film directed by Gasper Noe 2009 Enter The Void, which is a experimental art film with a lot neo lit and extremely colourful music video. This video fits with the song that talk about drug abuse and sex addiction as a way to express his love. This video is really important because it was released after the death of Asap Rocky's friend died due to drug overdose, so this video really ties with his personal life. If talking about music videos Asap Rocky really takes it to the extreme. He uses the music video to make it surreal with no fears. The cinematography is beyond crazy is like the camera the eyes of the main character drugged on LSD. The character walking through the streets and randomly transition with a liquid mercury to other big location, but overall this video is creative, and pushing the boundaries of how

The Possession

This is a short film made by media previous media students, and this a Horror/Supernatural short film, I can see a lot of Selender-Man reference, with the random papers with the black glitchy background, and this features 3 actors, and this follows a really minimalist plot, which is 2 boys trying to find one of their mate that is lost, but the mate is possessed by a a spirit. At the end everyone gets possessed. There is many downfalls for this short. The film's colour grading is really horrendous and it makes the visuals really unappealing. They were trying make it like in a night day setting and foggy with this really silver colour grading that doesn't makes the visual scary.
The place where the scenes are being set is really dull and there is not quite the scariest, they've added few cheap props to make it more believable. The sound always makes this short-film to be desired because the cut are really abrupt, which makes the transition with the other clips clashes each other, but would it better a smother transition. Also the thing that really ends really quickly are the sound-effects like the ambient sound and scary sounds, not adding any other effects like reverb to makes the sound with spaces, it helps with short sounds door creeks, etc. Overall this short with could've been much better, because horror the main point is not just the jump scares, thing like the suspense, the thrill and psychological mind games can make the audience interact with the short.
PHOTOSHOP TUTORIAL 1
We are asked to make a poster of my favourite artist, and intend to use themes that he is known like the logos and album cover backgrounds. The artist whom I am using is Tyler, The Creator American Rapper, Producer and Musician that I was been breaking boundaries with his music and sense of fashion, and being an overall icon on rappers history.

I searched up Tyler, The Creator on Google so that I can edit

Then I used the gradient tool with blue because it matched with his clothes

I thought it would cool if I added some clouds so I did so I search it up

I placed the image that I choose on Photoshop and I tried to remove the background quicker but it didn't work out

Used the select tool to remove the background
I searched up for his most used font which is called a box cutter that I thought it was cool to add

So I added it on photoshop and just remove the background

I copy and paste the clouds in the background

After Finished with the clouds I added the artist name on the bottom

I just went to files and clicked on Save a Copy

And just pressed save

Shot Sizes
Cinematography is one of the most thing of making a movie, doing well design scenes with different ranges of shots can help a scene be more than a simple conversation to be a statement and convey a message to the audience, express an emotion or state of the character or an attention to detail to specific.
Extreme Long Shot

This an extreme long shot, is a shot where you position the camera far from the subject, which gives a bigger focus on the background of the scene, and that can help isolate the characters action from the background, The extreme long shot is used on Lawrence of Arabia (1962), the director uses a lot of extreme wide shot to frame the characters in the vast desert.
Long Shot
.jpg)
Django Unchained (2012)
Long shot, also well know as a wide shot, the his shot is set on a way that gives attention to the place and location, similar to the extreme long shot, by setting subject or character of the scene in context. It can set up shots of houses, buildings and wides shots. The movie Birdman (2014) which which seems that is shot one take, it also shot with a long shot to display where the character is located, and it feels that the camera is a character of the film stalk the Michael Keaton's character throughout the set.
Medium Shot

The medium shot is somewhere between an extreme long and long shot. The good thing about the medium shot is that is filmed on a way that shows the character from waist up or knee, while slowly showing the background around the character. Like you can see this is the famous scene of Titanic (1997) of Jack buy holding Rose of the edge of the famous ship, and gives the audience an equal view of the subjects and the surrounding environment.

There is variations of the medium shot like:
Titanic (1997)
Medium Long Shot

Wonder Woman (2017)
Medium Close Up
.jpg)
Big Lebowski (1998)
Close Up

The Conversation (1974)
Close Up shot is filmed in a way that frames is filled with an and the character's face or an important detail in the scene. The main objective of the close up is tell share an information, emotion or the state of the character, the filmmaker's way of telling the audience that something important is happening in front of the character. It makes the audience connect even more with the world of the film.

Our teacher allowed us to use the DSLR (Digital single-lens reflex) cameras to try take some pictures, and tried not recreate but try explore other camera shots.

Photoshop Tutorial 2
Today we are talking about the layouts of a poster which is important for many things in the entrainment business. Posters can help with attracting a certain target audience for the product that the company they are selling, and give them information. Music or film posters for me stick out the most because they can be really creative by using collages as visual bases of their design, but many music artist uses their own logos that can be their own typography, and movies uses a lot of colourful ways, and it's important to use the lead actor or actress as a main image to attract as many audience possible to the film. Our teacher asked us to analysis 5 tour poster because when we make the music video by by the end of this term we have to do a poster along with the music video.

Example 1: Spree (2020)

Example 2: David Bowie (1973)
Music Poster Analysis

This is a promotional poster for the new wave band Joy Division from the late 70's. There are really influential nowadays because it's dark mix of punk and pop influence with lyrics talk about depression and fail relationships, this was a way for the lead singer Ian Curtis to express his feeling. The album cover of the band's Unknown Pleasures is like a reflection of the with a dark background with an image of signals from a radio pulsar, which for the dark background can symbolise the lyrical content of the band and the signals are the bouncy and fast instrumentals of the band. This poster uses the iconic album cover, and uses some interesting fonts on it, just all white and effective.
This is yet another promotional tour poster made by Tyler, The Creator. Is %100 of this poster was probably self-designed because it features a picture of one his photoshoots and everything from his clothes fits with the orange background, and he uses the box cutter font which is a really the font the he is known for. and shows the other people featuring his concert with the other font that he is also well known to using on it on his album cover goblin, and has simplistic layout and it's really welcoming and it seems like a fun place to go. These bright colours makes it more welcoming for people and it's eye catchy.

Adobe Audition Tutorial
Our Teacher now asked us to add audio to a car drifting with no sound, and we need to sound edit.

I firstly downloaded the files with the video of the car drifting and the sound to add with.
.png)
I decompressed the file

I opened Adobe audition and Pressed CMD+I to import the files

Selected the files and pressed open

I pressed the multitrack option

Then pressed ok.

I also added the video as a reference so I can match the sound with video

I sliced and cut few unnecessary parts of the sound

And the yellow little circles are like the crossfade so that the sound fades to the repeating sound

And I did the same on the screeching part of the sound
After editing well the sound I had to export it on a wav file

I went to file, export, multitrack mixdown and clicked entire session

Pressed ok

I opened Premiere Pro and clicked new project

I pressed that interface and created a sequence by doing the CMD+N shortcut

Kept the setting the same

And I clicked the standard 48Hz

The only thing I done was just added the video and the sound
I just clicked file and export, and media

waited for the tab, and I clicked export

I just waited for it to export

Camera Movement
Pan- this a technique really used when you move a camera horizontally, that can either move left to right and vice and verse. Also, is achieved by keeping the person (character) in the same position of the frame. the position of the camera ain't moving. The exposure time must be long enough to allow the background the blur due to the camera movement as the photographer follows the subject in the viewfinder. There is many examples of of the use of panning, it can be always used as good transition to one scenes to another. It can be used to showcase the background from left and right.

Example 1 from the movie Band of Outsiders (1964)
Dolly Zoom-
a dolly zoom or the vertigo shot. This camera movement is achieved by zooming the lens, the director dolly towards or away from a subject while zooming the opposite direction. This is really used in scenes where is zoom in means that something is something is happening like the scene of Jaw (1974), when the Capitan realises that something is happening and he is scared. Or can be a scene of La Haine (1995) when the crew are hanging and the camera moves closer to the characters and but the background goes out of focus.
La Haine (1995)
Jaw (1975)
Tilt-
Tilt is shot that uses when the directors technique called tilting in which the cameras is stays the same positions but rotates up and down, it can used when the character and tilt up showing the location behind him. But tilting the camera down can visual indication of superiority or vulnerability in the move.
Non-Linear Music Edit
This is the non-linear music edit that I had to do, I done with the Dua Lipa songs. Our teacher provided us with a lot of footage of people dancing, like the soul train, old movies with dances. I choose a few of them footage that our teacher provided, and I also tried to match the part that few dancer were clapping and stomping. I feel like done a good job but I think just mistaken with the sequence but overall the quality is good I tried to add few effects.
J & L Cut
J-Cut:
J Cut is an editing method used for scenes transitions or within a scene in which the audio of the scene coming continues when the shot is changing, so audience can still listen to the next scene or shot before they see it. It's called a J cut because of the way that they moved to the next scene.
L-Cut
L cut is another film editing technique which that audio instead of the audio of the scene coming comes first, now the audio from the coming scene carries over the footage of the following scene, the cuts allow the editor to have the sound or the conversation of one scene smothly transition to the next scene.

:Example 1: J cut and L Cut
Example 2: J Cut
Example 3: L Cut
Studio Lighting-3 point light
The Three Point lighting is the normal form of professional lighting in video production and still photography. It consists using three light sources placed in three different positions which are the key light which is the light in the front directly upon the subject and this the principal illuminator, and a lamp is used or camera flash as the key light. The second light is the Fill Light and this light shines from a side angle on a lower position. Lastly the Black Light (rim) shines on the object from behind.
Examples of 3 point light:

DPI/Resolution
DPI (dots per inch) is a measure of the decision of a printed file or digital scan, the greater the dot density, the greater the decision of the print or scan. Typically, DPI is the measure of the wide variety of dots that can be positioned in a line throughout one inch. There different DPI resolution used in the industry like 72 DPI used on newspapers and magazines, and 300 DPI used on digital cameras.
Here is a comparison:

180 Degree Rule
The 180 rule of filmmaking technique that states that two characters in a scene should maintain the same relationship to one another, that helps the audience keep track of where your characters are in the a scene. These rules can be broken when director is creative and it's known as a reverse cut, is often used to reverse cuts sparingly and to communicate a message.
PODCAST DEBATE
THE AMERICAN INVASION
American Culture always been the dominating point in music because they have lanched the biggest music genres every created in the last 7 decades, with genres like jazz, funk, hip-hop culture and Rock it's weird subgenres like metal, grunge, and this created such popular subgenres such as Grime, Brit-Pop and even Garage. This started around the 1960's when rock-n-roll was popular and this influenced bands that where already well know by the skiffle music genre and started to add distortion and electric guitars. This spawned bands such as Rolling Stones, Beatles, The Kinks and The Animals.
I started by doing the script and the whole conversation and I had my group. I set the podcast as a radio interview, We needed some lines to memorise, and added the three questions.
Final Outcome
Pre-Production
Pre- Production is the work done on a product, especially a film or broadcast. Almost all the components in artistic production. There are many stages of pre-production like the script it's the lines, and that involves taking care of the business like checking if the money or the budget is has to be controlled, and the budget can be restrained budget like limited money to make the movie and Shoestring which is making the movie in the cheapest way possible.
